“…We refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. ” – Martin Luther King.
There is something so intrinsically beautiful and powerful about this line.
King’s confident voice booms with such dignity and strength that, strangely, upon hearing this great speech many years later, chills still rush down my spine.
His words and struggles for equality and struggle are still relevant today. Not only amongst races, but cultures, races and people of differing nations and sadly the bank of justice is not accessible to all of us; opening its doors to the rich and shutting out the poor.
Do you have a favourite speech which you can listen to over and over again?
What’s your favourite line? I’m curious, share the love!
